About

AP Woodworkings is run by father-daughter duo, Al Pontia and Hayley Pontia. Al creates most of the creations (sometimes with help from Hayley whenever she is home). Hayley is the creative director and brand ambassador. She sells the product!

Al Pontia grew up with parents who knew craftsmanship and charm. In their tiny Pittsburgh basement, they spun up fun woodworking projects oftentimes that involved craft paints and cute faces on any surface that would allow it. It was his parents’ hobby that brought them together and they continued this throughout their lives. Whenever Hayley was younger, she would visit her grandparents’ house and always investigate the newest project in the basement. They even took her to a few craft shows where she was able to see other creations from locals.

Since his youth, Al has always had an interest in woodworking and any project that requires attention to detail. As a draftsman by trade, his dedication to design, functionality, and flare comes into play in his creations. Within the past 20 years, Al has increasingly become a master of cutting boards and custom furniture seen in his, and Hayley’s, respective homes.

Anytime Hayley would ask her dad if something was possible, he’d draw up an idea and get to work. With her background in design, she was able to provide input in these creations and their collaboration began. She would bring these creations with her everywhere she moved and always let friends know her dad was the creator behind the pieces. It wasn’t long until friends and family both commissioned pieces from Al, either directly, or through, Hayley.

While Al currently lives in Pittsburgh, PA, Hayley currently lives in Berkeley, CA. As a way to stay connected, they spun up the idea of AP Woodworkings. Their goal is to extend their reach from coast to coast to all the friends and family out there who are looking for a beautifully handcrafted creation.
