Product Care
Basic Care Instructions
After every use, we recommend washing with soap and water and drying immediately. Do not put your board in the dishwasher.
Supply Recommendations
-
Everyday Cleaning:
- Any bench scraper or metal spatula: This is used to gently scrape off stuck-on food or to remove dried salt (if you use a salt-and-lemon paste to get rid of odors).
- A mild dish soap: We like the standard Dawn Dish Soap.
- A sponge: We like Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Scrub Sponges
- A clean dish towel and paper towels: The Zeppoli Classic Dish Towels are our favorite for soaking up as much water from the board as possible before letting it air-dry. Use paper towels to apply mineral oil or wax to your board.
- A shop towel or old cotton t-shirt scraps: We love the Scott Shop Towels when using oil or wax on a board. If you're looking for a more sustainable option, cut up an old cotton t-shirt you no longer wear and repurpose.
-
Harder to Clean Aresa & Long-Term Maintenance:
- Food-grade mineral oil, beeswax, or a blend: Walrus Oil (Vegan), Walrus Wax (Vegan), or Clapham’s Beeswax Salad Bowl Finish, but any brand will do—as long as it’s food-safe.
- Kosher salt and lemon juice: This is used to deodorize your board if it’s stinky.
- Baking soda: This will remove tough stains from your board.
